What is behavioural interview coaching?
Behavioural interview coaching helps you select relevant examples from your experience, structure them using STAR—Situation, Task, Action, Result—and practise answering in English with individual feedback.
Sessions with Anna Baran are online, one-to-one and 50 minutes long. Anna is Cambridge CELTA qualified.

Who is this coaching for?
This coaching is relevant if you know your field but struggle to communicate your experience in an English-language interview.
You may already understand STAR yet find that your answers become too long, your personal contribution is unclear, or you lose your structure when asked a follow-up question.
How sessions work
Preparation starts with your target role and the experience you want to communicate.
During sessions, you practise answering questions aloud and receive feedback on:
- How closely your example answers the question.
- Whether the interviewer can follow its structure.
- How clearly you explain your own actions.
- Whether the result is specific and accurate.
- Your English phrasing and spoken delivery.
You then practise again using the feedback.
A practical STAR exercise
Fictional illustration—not a client outcome or an answer to memorise.
Question:
“Tell me about a time you disagreed with a colleague.”
Situation:
You and a colleague proposed different approaches to a project handover.
Task:
You needed to agree on an approach that the receiving team could use.
Action:
You asked about your colleague’s concerns, compared both approaches against the requirements and proposed a combined checklist.
Result:
The team agreed on the checklist and used it for the handover.
In coaching, you would develop an example from your own experience. Keep the facts accurate, explain your personal contribution and prepare for follow-up questions.
